Although the scrolling gallery is a great eye-catching option to easily add at the top of your LJWD Blog articles, you may also want to know how to scatter images and hyperlinks throughout the body of the blog article, where they are directly relevant to the content. Here are step-by-step instructions to walk you through the process of adding images and hyperlinks to your LJWD Blog:
One of the most frustrating parts of being a blogger is when you suddenly lose your internet connection while you're right in the middle of typing your article and all your hard work is lost! One sure way of preventing this from happening is to write the article first in a program you are familiar with, such as Microsoft Word or Notepad and save it to a place where you can easily find it again when you log in to the website and get ready to start blogging. At that point, you can just copy the entire article and paste it into the blog program.
If you need help getting started, there is a printable pdf with Basic Blogging Instructions on our Technical Assistance Page.
Please make sure the images are optimised to suit your Blog. Ideally, they should be between 500 and 800px wide and should have a resolution of 72 dpi. The smaller the image, the faster the page will load.
Make sure you save the images in a place where they will be very easy to find when you need them.

While in Edit Mode, select the blog manager and either click ‘Add New’ or select one of your existing posts to edit.Fill in all of the fields as usual. (see article on 'How to Drive Your Blog') Now is the time to copy your article and paste it into the 'Content Box'.
Click into the place in your article where you want your picture to show up and then click the 'Add Media' tab at the top of the content box.
A dialog box will appear, allowing you to upload a new image or select an existing one.
You will see a new dialog box. Click on the text to upload your image.
This will allow you to navigate to the place where you stored your image. Simply select the image and click 'OPEN'
If you have uploaded the image correctly, you will see a green tick mark next to the image.
You will now be able to select your newly uploaded image from the Picture list.
Click on the 'Picture List' Tab and you should be able to see your image at the top.
Click on the blue button that says 'Add' to the right of your image and the picture will show up in your blog.
Make sure you have the URL handy (URL is the address of the page you want your visitors to go to when they click the picture)
Simply navigate to that page and right click on the address bar, then right click and select 'copy' to save the address to your clipboard.
Next: Right click on the image and you will see a list of options. At the top of the options, select 'Insert Link'
You will get a new dialog box asking you for the URL (as described above)
Paste (or type) the URL into the box.
If you want to be very fancy, you can choose to open the page in a new window (to the right of where it says, 'Target') This means that the blog page they are reading will not go away, and the link will open up in a new window instead.
You can also add hyperlinks to words the same way that you do for images.
Simply highlight the word first and then right-click it to add the link.
Publish the article when you've finished.
